Jr Showmanship

Tera started competing in Jr Showmanship at AKC matches at 8 years of age. Her first Jrs dog was our Golden Retriever, Can. Ch. Landican Waldenway Lightnin CDX, CGC. "Lighty" was the perfect dog to learn with as he was ever patient and always happy to do whatever you asked of him. Tera couldn't have had a better dog to start with. The two practiced at matches for 2 years, then, when both were 10 years old, they entered the ring at AKC shows. It wasn't long before they had the 3 first placings needed to move up into the Open class. Unfortunately, Lighty passed away at 11.5 years of age from a stroke. We will always cherish the wonderful memories we have of him.

Northland's Cameo Charm or "Cami", a black tri Aussie bitch, was Tera's next Jrs dog. Cami was a happy and bubbly girl. She loved to show. The pair did very well and in January of 1998, when Tera was 13 years old, they won Best Junior Handler over an entry of 40 kids under judge, Dr. Hungerland from the Open Jr. class.

Tera has also shown Arrow and the 2 have garnered several Best Jr. Handler Awards. Both of them love the conformation and Jrs. Rings and it shows in their beautiful teamwork. In April 1999 at the USASA National Specialty in Marshall, TX, they won Best Jr Handler under judge Lee Brown.

The USASA Nationals in Davidsburg, MI was Tera and Arrow's last show in Jr's ring as Tera has now aged out of Jrs. They finished in style, garnering a 2nd place against tough competition. Congratulations Tera on a job VERY well done
